Here at The League, we want you to sew the BEST clothes of your life.  We'd like to invite you to make our League video series for HOW TO SEW PANTS part of that experience!

This series has been one League members have asked for more than once. Pants can be intimidating! But since so many of us wear pants most days, and since so many "looks" can be built around a single pair of pants, sewing them is a fundamental skill for anyone looking to build a handmade wardrobe.

Pants styles range from loose, relaxed drawstring styles through structured shapes with zippers and buttons. This series covers the whole scope, incorporating video sewalongs for FIVE popular pants patterns:

The five styles of pants increase in skill and challenge level as we go along, so that whether you're experienced at pants-making, or these are your very first pairs, you'll develop the chops as we go!

The Emerson Pants: these are a flat-front, elastic-back loose fitting pant that's great for linen and lightweight cottons.

The Pietra Pants: these are a flat-front, elastic back pant with no waistband, with a cool pocket detail that makes a sophisticated shape with more structure.

The Dani Pants: these have a fly-front closure and elastic back waist, so in some ways, they're the best of both worlds, while offering a great chance to develop some serious pants skills.

The Mitchell Trousers: a fly-front fitted pant with wide legs and sliders for shaping at the side seams.

The Sasha Trousers: a fitted, stretch cotton classic trouser with a structured waist and fly front, plus waistband and back darts.

Every post includes links to notions and supplies, suggestions for alterations that may be needed, and some commentary following each project. As you sew, share your own ideas and insights on our social platform, and have fun sewing!
